Senior Vice President – Key Investment Services (KIS) SA, Morges
After starting his professional career in publishing with Swiss Quality Publication, André joined Forward SA (the publisher of BANCO, the Swiss Asset Management Magazine) from 1998 to 2002 as Head of Sales & Marketing and where he was also in charge of BANCO's proprietary funds database and rating. From 2002 to 2007, he was Sales Manager at Finlab SA, publishers of fund analysis and reporting software targeted mainly at hedge funds. These commercial activities brought him in contact with numerous managers and analysts of hedge funds. In January 2008, he joined Key Investment Services (KIS) SA, a Swiss pension funds' investment advisor, as Head of commercial development and member of pension funds asset management boards.
CEO and Member of the Executive Committee – Gérifonds, Lausanne
Holder of a CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) and of two federal diplomas delivered by the SFAA, as well as a Degree in Economics, Christian Carron joined Gérifonds SA in 1997 as Senior Fund Manager. After six years as manager of the Japac Fund and member of the Investment Committee, he was promoted to the position of Chief Investment Officer and was appointed to the Board of Directors of Gérifonds, a Swiss fund management company (part of the BCV Group) which manages and administrates - amongst others - more than thirty hedge funds. He has been appointed CEO of Gérifonds in September 2012.
Chief Investment Officer - CPEG, Geneva
Grégoire Haenni is chief investment officer of the CPEG, the pension fund of the state of Geneva. Prior to joining CPEG, Mr. Haenni was from 2010 until the end of 2014 the CIO of the pension fund management unit of CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, based in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to that, Mr. Haenni was heading the Research and Investments department at Bank of China (Suisse) Fund Management SA. Before that, he founded Bedrock Alternative Asset Management SA, a subsidiary of Bedrock Group, and was the Managing Partner from 2007 to 2008, as well as Head of Research and Portfolio Management. He was a portfolio manager of two funds of hedge funds, as well as tailor-made portfolios designed for UHNWI, based on proprietary multi-dimensional models that he developed over 20 years. Prior to Bedrock, Mr. Haenni was a senior qualitative and quantitative analyst at Pictet & Cie's alternative department from 2001 to 2007. He was also the manager of the Asian multi-strategy fund of hedge funds and managed tailor-made portfolios of alternative investments. He started his career in 1997 as a financial analyst and portfolio manager at Merchiston Management SA. He holds a PhD in Econometrics, summa cum laude. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Methods and a Master of Science in Econometrics from the University of Geneva.
Chief Operating Officer – CERN Pension Fund, Geneva
Nicolas Salomon is the Head of Alternative products at the pension fund management unit of CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, based in Geneva, Switzerland. The Pension fund is managing approximately CHF 4bn in assets. He acts on the implementation of an innovative alternative portfolio. Prior to joining the CERN pension fund, Mr. Salomon was heading the middle-office department at Bank of China (Suisse) Fund Management SA. Before that, he was a founder of Bedrock Alternative Asset Management, a subsidiary of Bedrock Holding. He setup the middle-office activity and played an important role in the implementation of the investment strategy. Prior to that he worked at Cedar Partners, a Single and funds of hedge funds firm in Geneva and was responsible for the middle-office activity He held a similar position at AIB/Mourant in Jersey and Bank of New-York in Ireland. He holds a MSc in Finance and MSc in Accounting. He is lecturer at the University of South-Brittany (France) on courses related to alternative investments. Nicolas was member of the Board of Directors of the AMFIE Bank in Luxembourg from 2013 to 2015.
Indira C. Tasan
Editor-in-Chief of BANCO and Chairman of the Jury – Forward Group, Lausanne
Indira C. Tasan is a journalist and editor of the financial quarterly BANCO, the Swiss Asset Management Magazine. After studying Russian and Chinese at the Universities of Lausanne and of Geneva, she began her career as Product Manager with an international publishing house based in Lausanne, where she launched a magazine in English dedicated to the promotion of the Swiss financial place abroad, before becoming Business Director. In 1995, she and Selim R. Chanderli founded Forward SA, a publishing house based in Lausanne. Launched in 1996, BANCO is the only financial magazine that covers the whole of Switzerland.
